A study by Johns Hopkins reported that medical error is the 3rd leading cause of death in the United States. Ineffective communication was cited in most. Yet, we don’t often teach healthcare leaders and their employees the skills they need to optimize the way they communicate in a way that ensures the highest quality care AND protects patients. When healthcare employees fail to communicate effectively, they make mistakes. Therefore, communication skills may be as important, if not more important, than clinical skills.
This workshop is designed to teach healthcare leaders and their employees the essential evidence based communication skills needed to effectively provide high quality, safe, and effective care to the patients they serve.
Develop assertive communication skills among the healthcare team.
